SVELAV Pro 1 - basic training for professional use

Improve your skills with Avalanche Pro 1 according to standards from Svelav. Your instructor is an IFMGA mountain guide and avalanche instructor.


Description:

A basic education for working outdoors in a mountain environment. The purpose with this course is to recognize avalanche terrain and assess avalanche risk from a work perspective. It contains an exam part for avalanche terrain and comrade rescue, and consists partly of theory and partly of practical parts outdoors.


Prior knowledge requirements:

First aid training or equivalent at least three days which includes CPR and hypothermia.


The participants should be in good physical shape and be able to comfortably ski outside the pistes(alternative for the snowmobile course; driving a snowmobile in terrain off the snowmobile trails).


Participants should also have practiced searching with a transceiver before the course.

Be prepared for professional work in avalanche terrain, under management or with the support of work routines.


Have knowledge and ability to take responsibility for one's safety and work environment in avalanche terrain.


Be able to use instruments that reduce risk in these environments.


Be able to independently carry out a comrade rescue and hand over responsibility to organized rescue, and be able to participate in an organized rescue under management.


Included in the course:

Three day training with IFMGA guide and avalanche instructor.

Loan of shovel, probe and transceiver.


Not included in the course:

Personal ski equipment.

Ski pass.

Insurance that covers off-piste skiing.

Helmet and avalanche backpack (recommended).
